Athanatos Press exists to publish work designed to outlast its author. The name comes from the Greek athanatos, deathless, describing what persists beyond the mortal frame.
The press was founded under a single guiding instruction: offer the work, not the self. No public figurehead, no authorial performance, only transmission.
Athanatos operates as a threshold, a disciplined container for ideas concerned with truth, structure, psychology and philosophy. What passes through is protected by restraint, clarity and fidelity to the work itself.
In practice that means a small list, read hard and edited hard. Thirty-eight titles are in print across two lines. Eleven more are in preparation. Every one carries an ISBN issued from the imprint’s own registered prefix, and every one is distributed through established retail channels rather than sold only from a website.
We are open to authors working in the same discipline. The standard is published in full on the submissions page so that nobody has to guess at it.
