Athanatos Press is small and reads everything that reaches it. We publish a few books properly rather than many books quickly. What follows is the whole standard, written plainly, so you can decide for yourself before you spend the time.
Not a restatement of a school, a synthesis of other people's positions, or a popularisation. We are looking for a claim that was not available before you made it.
A structure that holds outside the case it was built on. If it only explains your own life, it is a memoir, and memoir is not what this imprint does.
Depth-psychological discipline at the readability of trade nonfiction. No jargon standing in for thought, no throat-clearing, no padding to reach a word count.
We publish for the reader in ten years, not the news cycle this month. If the book depends on a current moment to matter, it is an article.
Every title here is worked hard before it prints. Authors who want the manuscript published as it stands are better served elsewhere.
If that describes what you are already doing, we would like to see it. If it does not, we will not be the right home and there is no sense in either of us pretending otherwise.
